I should try harder
to slim fat rolls, Diana,
lest more light leak in.

Multiple choice: This is Brenna’s favorite event (a) of the year, (b) in Texas, (c) to photograph, or (d) all of the above.
Answer: d.
Along those lines, I’m posting a <expletive deleted> ton of pics from this event this week, so apologies in advance if this isn’t your kettle of crazy.
Week 25 #5.
Birds of a feather
don’t really flock together
when living in town.
From the top: Turkey Vulture; Scissortail Flycatcher; Northern Mockingbird; Guinea Fowl. I saw all four (plus several more interesting specimens that escaped my lens) on my way to and from work on the same day, which made for a pretty blissful commute.
Week 25 #3.
Precipitation
reduces the epic drought
while trashing the lake.
(The “lake” is actually the Colorado River, but this section is locally referred to as Lady Bird -formerly Town- Lake.)
Week 25 #1.
Caterpillars say:
Ba chomp. And: Ba chewy chomp.
Then: Ba chewy chomp.

The garden was shocked
by how much dill it takes to
make a butterfly.
Week 24 #5.
The rent is too high
for dishy vintage stores now.
Will the mural stay?
(I often feel weird about photographing street art and other artwork. If I take a straightforward shot, I worry that I’m merely copying another artist’s work, but if I try to add too much “me” to the photo, the resulting shot usually ends up feeling contrived. Despite my continued ambivalence, I’ve been making the effort to take a lot more of these shots in the past year, simply because of the fleeting nature of the artwork. And hey, maybe if I do it often enough, I’ll start to figure out what works for me.)
