Week 24 #5.

The rent is too high

for dishy vintage stores now.

Will the mural stay?

(I often feel weird about photographing street art and other artwork. If I take a straightforward shot, I worry that I’m merely copying another artist’s work, but if I try to add too much “me” to the photo, the resulting shot usually ends up feeling contrived. Despite my continued ambivalence, I’ve been making the effort to take a lot more of these shots in the past year, simply because of the fleeting nature of the artwork. And hey, maybe if I do it often enough, I’ll start to figure out what works for me.)

Week 23 #3.

Castle Hill towers

over street art foundation.

Oops - and some cat hair.

Week 21 #1.
Graffiti puppy
with Kewpie eyes springs over
a herd of deer heads.

Week 20 #3.

Big dog, little cat,

and a happy bun nearby?

Easily amused!

Chad over at Camera Simplex suggested we add haiku to our photos to celebrate National Poetry Month. I will probably attempt a few limericks as well. Wanna join in?

Some people go on photo walks. I tend to take photo bike rides.

Week 17 #5.

Week 17 #5.

Week 17 #4. Fig tree.

Week 16 #2. Under construction.

I <3 (2) love (u).
I’ve been feeling a little lethargic and uninspired lately, so I loaded up a roll of Revolog’s Volvox (a special effect film that has these great glowing green orbs already exposed on it) for this week. It’s impossible to not feel cheerful when I’m using film like this - I know the results will be unpredictable and whimsical, and it’s so much fun to take photos when I know there’s already an exposure on my film, but don’t know exactly what it is - it’s a lot like doing a double exposure film swap with another photographer.
