Week 25 #5.

Birds of a feather

don’t really flock together

when living in town.

From the top: Turkey Vulture; Scissortail Flycatcher; Northern Mockingbird; Guinea Fowl. I saw all four (plus several more interesting specimens that escaped my lens) on my way to and from work on the same day, which made for a pretty blissful commute.

Week 25 #3.

Precipitation

reduces the epic drought

while trashing the lake.

(The “lake” is actually the Colorado River, but this section is locally referred to as Lady Bird -formerly Town- Lake.)

Coastal miscellany, winter edition.

Week 14 #2. While the Texas coast can be a bit drab, it’s nevertheless a wonderland if you’re at all interested in birds. I mean, who doesn’t love a good kestrel sighting? And it’s not often you see an endangered species like these whooping cranes just hanging out in a field alongside the highway.

Week 13 #3. In the grocery store parking lot.
