The state of the backyard, April 2013

For those into that sort of thing: (1) tomato & salad burnet, (2) frostweed, (3) asparagus, (4) prickly pear, (5, 7) cutting celery (currently shielded from curious chickens by hardware cloth), (6) lady bug larva, (8) horseherb and a soon-to-be retaining wall, (9) more prickly pear, (10) hoja santa (this stuff makes a great wrapper for grilled / steamed / roasted fish, and can -obviously- practically grow through concrete).
